SUPER CONQUEROR

DAH, DAH, DAH, DAH!!!!!

Super heroes have long been a part of our lives, especially in the last several years as super hero movies and tv shows have blanketed television and the silver screen. It makes no difference if the hero is Superman, Batman, The Flash, Captain America, Spiderman, or another hero, the storyline is pretty much the same. The hero battles his nemesis, and although he often loses a battle or two, he ultimately stands victorious at the end of the comic book, movie, or tv show.

In Romans, Paul writes:

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Romans 8:37

‭‭

What are “all these things” that we are more than conquerors in? Verse 35 lists them.

Trouble | Hardship | Persecution | Famine | Nakedness | Danger | Sword

Those seven pretty much include just about any problem we would ever experience. Yet Paul tells us that we are more than conquerors through him who loved us, which is Jesus.

The phrase “more than conquerors” translates

a. prevail mightily

b. a super conqueror who is completely and overwhelmingly victorious.

WAIT! WHAT?

Did Paul just call us super conquerors? You better believe it. Start the super hero music!!

Dah, Dah, Dah, Dah!!!!!

Let me break this down for you.

In trouble, Persecution, Famine, Nakedness, Danger, facing the Sword we prevail mightily and are super conquerors who are completely and overwhelmingly victorious. We don’t just win. WE WIN BIG!!!!!!

The next time the enemy, your nemesis, your arch rival wants to battle and attack you, stand up straight, roll your shoulders back, look up and sing that super hero music loud and clear for him to hear!!!

DAH, DAH, DAH, DAH!!!!!

He ain’t ready for that!!!
