Do you remember playing "Hide n Seek" when you were younger? I do. I even played with my kids when they got old enough. No one ever wanted to be the seeker. We all wanted to hide. When we get older, it seems all we do is seek. We seek after the perfect job, a spouse, a great car or house. We want to show the world our success. We want to be successful. The search and desire for success drives so many people in today's world. The sad thing is that for many, success comes with great sacrifice.
What is the secret of success? In 1987, in the movie, "The Secret of My Success" Michael J. Fox played the role of a talented young man who could not obtain the position of a high executive so he formulates a shortcut to help himself climb to the top. In reality, we fight, and claw, we work long hours, and do whatever it takes to find great success. But what is the real secret to success.
Talking of King Uzziah, 2 Chronicles 26:5 says,
“He sought God during the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God. As long as he sought the Lord, God gave him success.”
God told Joshua in Joshua 1:8
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
The Bible gives us the secret to finding success. Seek God, and live according to God's Word. What are you seeking today? Are you seeking happiness, success, prosperity, a better job? God will provide all of these for you if you will seek Him above all else.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33 NIV
